Why Do I Do This To Myself?
Hey. I'm here to yell at the Glee fandom. It's not going to be that interesting, mostly me just yelling at Blaine stans (...while I use a Blaine icon). Carry on.
Lets start with this. I don't hate Blaine. He's been my favourite character on this show for a loooooong time now. That hasn't changed. HOWEVER, I hate what he did. I am super pissed that he went and cheated on Kurt. I was happy when Kurt laid down the law last night. Blaine did something awful and he should NOT get let off the hook for it for any reason.
Some people I know have completely given up on him. That's fine by me. Go on and tell me how awful he is and how you hate him forever. That's cool, I don't blame you. Some other people have given up on Klaine. Again, whatever I don't care. I still like them in the land of AU fanfic (and I'm sure I'll like them when they inevitably get back together) but if you don't, that's cool too. I completely get why people would feel this way.
On the other side of things, some people still love Blaine like I do. Again, that's cool. I'm glad I'm not the only one trapped in my love for him, unable to escape. I'm glad there's others who still have feels when Blaine's being a geeky dork extraordinaire. HOWEVER, what I'm not at all glad about is the way some of the blaine fans I've seen have reacted to The Break Up storyline. So, I'm here to look at some of these awful opinions and talk about why they suck. If that doesn't interest you, feel free to leave.
1. Well, Blaine never said he slept with the guy!
I put this one first because it's the easiest to dispell. While it's true we have no idea what happened, it doesn't matter. Kurt's trust has been broken. That's it. Next.
2. But look at the poor baby's face! He's so sad! Why can't Kurt just forgive him?
While I'll admit it does make me sad when Blaine does the big puppy dog eyes, that doesn't mean Kurt owes him forgiveness. KURT'S. TRUST. HAS. BEEN. BROKEN. No matter how sad panda Blaine is because he's omg so sorry, Kurt's sad too because Blaine did something awful. Kurt is allowed not to want to forgive him yet (or ever). That's how life works. Deal with it.
3. But Blaine was lonely!
Yes, I have heard this said. You guys, Kurt was lonely too. That's what happens in long distance relationships. That doesn't mean you get a free pass to cheat. End of story.
4. Blaine obviously suffers from clinical depression so it's not his fault!
We're getting to interesting ones now. No, fandom. Blaine does not suffer from clinical depression. Just because someone is sad does not mean that they are depressed. I suggest you get your facts straight before you start diagnosing people. I also suggest you don't get mad at people who are actually depressed when they get mad at you for appropriating their disorder. That's not a good look, fandom. It's not a good look at all. It should also be noted that if Blaine WAS clinically depressed, that does not in any way give him a free pass to cheat. That's not a symptom. No.
5. But Kurt cheated on Blaine with Chandler! How is this different?
While I do consider the whole Kurt/Chandler thing to be emotional cheating (sort of...it's complicated) these two situations are not the same at all. What Blaine did was SO much worse and about 1000 times more serious than the Chandler situation. Seriously, stop it fandom.
6. This is all Kurt's fault.
NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO! STOP BLAMING KURT FANDOM, GEEZ! HE'S ALLOWED TO BE MAD. HE'S ALLOWED TO NOT FORGIVE BLAINE. ALSO, IF WE'RE COUNTING WHAT HAPPENED IN MAKEOVER, HE'S ALLOWED TO BE BUSY AND EXCITED ABOUT HIS NEW JOB AND CAUGHT UP IN THE LIFE HE'S CREATING FOR HIMSELF. KURT'S LIFE DOES NOT REVOLVE AROUND BLAINE AND THAT. IS. OKAY. THIS IS NOT HIS FAULT IN ANY WAY STOP BEING GROSS JESUS CHRIST FANDOM WHY ARE YOU
