It's good that you can look at your parents' motives for not letting you go alone to Europe and take it in stride.

While this may be a missed opportunity in Europe, I hope that there will be more opportunities for you along the way.

That is very sad. As I'm the same as you when it comes to my parents, I am often wondering the same thing. I appreciate the love and concern, but one day I'll have to face life alone.

As for the here and now... in this situation, perhaps you should believe the issue valid. I don't know the circumstance, nor do I know how you intended to handle it... but sometimes dropping someone too inexperienced into a deep matter is like throwing your goldfish out of the bowl and out of water.

Don't think this is the end... there will always be a chance someday to go to Europe... and who knows. Maybe it will be on business again. And regardless of the situation, you know I'll always believe in you.

Hey. Just remember... you'll never run short of opportunity to grow.

You're still young and obviously very ready to throw yourself into the deep end to grab such chances by the throat, which is a rare enough quality in people both half and twice your age...

So I have no doubt you'll encounter many more of them along the way, and emerge all the better for them.

*Smiles. Encouragingly?*

I know it doesn't make it any better... and I'm disappointed for you all the same. Where were you bound for?

I stole your 'read more' substitute sentence to my prompt. It reminded me of Hephaistion...

Sorry you didn't get to go. Even if you weren't *that* excited about going, it clearly is at least a little disappointing to you that you didn't get to go in the end, so I am sorry for that. *pet, pet ( ... )
