I've been promising a website update for ages and the bulk of the work really is done: I actually caught up writing dozens of con reports and costume descriptions, but now I just have to actually enter them in my database and link pictures to them. Matter of an hour or two, but I just can't find even that much free time lately. Rehearsals for " ( Read more... )

D'aw, poor squirrely. You did the right thing, that was much better than having to suffer like he might have otherwise.

And I really enjoyed the read through of your play! Good luck with submitting it, wherever you do.

Thanks!! So glad you liked it. Hey, if you really did actively enjoy it, mayhaps next time I could bring the two short plays I wrote for our Variations project this year. Neither of them were selected to be produced, but one made it until the very last selection process before it was put aside. So close.

Glad you emphasize with me regarding Spip.

Sure! Print versions are good, as on the computer i lose my attention way too fast when it comes to reading things like prose or plays.

Agreed. There's something about reading on the computer that turns me off, too. I can never really get into fic-reading in fact.

Yeah those two other plays are really short. 10 mins. Very few pages, easy to print. And this time I can actually plan ahead better and print from work. Last time I literally finished the play at the last minute from home, Thursday night. So I didn't have a chance to go back to work to print it there. Could've done so super-fast there, and our work printer and print on both sides. Saves paper and space.

In regards to Spip - yes, putting him down WAS the right thing to do. Unfortunately, the Humane Society is understaffed and underfunded. And even had they rehabilitated a squirrel, which would have taken daays and daaaays, what then? Assuming the poor thing lived through the expensive surgery to get everything put back together, what then? At that point, even if he healed up, there was no putting him back in the 'wild'.

While the surface thought seems to be "psh it is only a squirrel" the real reasons are above.

And yes, the flies would have eaten him from the inside out and it would have been an agonizing mess for the poor guy. Ending the suffering of him was the best thing you could do. AND had he healed up enough to live, his legs would never support him and he probably would have been taken by other local wildlife as 'easy pickings' after dragging himself around in agony for days, weeks, months?? Not cool.

Ton histoire est touchante et je crois que tu as vraiment aidé Spip. Ce que j'aime, c'est le nom que tu lui a donné. Je suis sûre que Spirou serait contant.
