So there IS lead in lipstick?

Question: There's an internet rumor that says you can check for lead in lipstick by rubbing a gold ring on the lipstick. If the lipstick turns black, it contains lead. Is there any truth to this?

OMG!! I never knew that!! I must STOP using it! I have recently started wearing lipstick with a bit of lip gloss ... but wait what about lip gloss ... does that have lead in it too? if so then let me know ok if it doesn't then I will only use lip gloss and no lipstick.

I thought it was a myth. I'm a lipgloss girl myself, but I was planning to make the switch. Boo.

Did they mention what companies were discovered to have lipsticks containing lead?? Maybelline? L'oreal? Sheseido?

My God, that's scary :( I'm a lipstick girl, and I'm changing to lipgloss. They look safer.
