FWIW, I found that using some (human) silicone shine drops/silicone anti-frizz serum on wigs works REALLY well -- take it off the doll, put a drop or two in your hand, rub your hands together, and then run your hands through the wig, especially in areas that have a lot of broken hairs. Then brush with a little bit of water on the brush.
It's like magic -- I've tamed some CRAZY wigs with this technique!
Just don't get it on her face-up -- as long as it's a light amount in the wig, it's fine, but you don't want to do this ON the doll and get a blob of shiny stuff on her face. (I've never had a problem, but I worry about messing up the MSC.)
I already tamed a similar wig with a product that was made for synthetic hair (human wigs) it works really well as long as you only use a little. I try not to do too much with these wigs since all my dolls are painted by "retired" artists :'( Luckily my girls seem to go well with hair on the messier side!
The composite for the A-line skirt is complete. Right now it hits about mid-thigh, so its kind of a mini skirt. But thats because its a one-piece design (one long piece of fabric that only needs to be sewn down the sides). Next I just have to decide how I want the yoke to look! If you have any ideas then let me know :)
Understood -- Asphodel was painted by KKY, and there's no replacing her face-up!
But, yeah -- as long as you take the wig off while you're working with it, I haven't had any problem using silicone de-frizz and a wig brush (widely-spaced wire bristles -- I got mine at Sally Beauty Supply) to neaten up their wigs.
And, oooh -- the dress sounds amazing! It looks like you have kind of a rose design in this one, although I can''t quite tell . . . I adore Charles Rennie Mackintosh's stylized rose designs, and I think they'd look fab on a dress!
you have a very good eye, lol.heimdalalrAugust 22 2012, 02:24:31 UTC
This particular rose design on this is so fragile, its actually one of the earlier designs we did... before we figured a good line width that works. Anything smaller than that just won't work especially with the grabby style hands unoas and naraes have! We re-did it in SD size and it works a LOT better that way we just dont have a complimentary fabric in that size yet... (might be harder to see but its in this picture
