While at home on the farm, I've sometimes thought that the barnyard sounds-animals, machinery, windy field grass- often take on a rhythmic, musical quality. This effect is well-achieved in this film and the result is a harmonic blend that really sets the scene

Indeed! It's very much in the vein of There Will Be Blood and The Assassination of Jesse James.
