She fought above and beyond what I had expected from one of His Majesty's finest warriors and I admit that Agni Rastra's victory was in no little part the result of great luck

Hopefully this challenge will have further proven to Rokujo that we're the ones who deserve to succeed him. Even if luck played a part, we still just demonstrated our strength directly to one of his highest-ranking officers. He'll have noticed.

Not likely. The difference between the power of three of our own soldiers--including myself--and a single one of his is too great. I assume this was simply one of the first of many, many tests he will put forth. In a broader view of things, having won this test means nothing. Continuing to win will be what gains us the Emperor's favor and attention.
