Translated Question?'s article in March08's POTATO.
As MATCHY with QUESTION?, they released a single, “Mezamero Yasei”. And we ask them, who also participated in an event on the 3rd of February, about their feelings. We also asked them their views on the theme of “Refresh” and “Life’s biggest event”.

After the year end countdown concert’s rehearsals had ended, there was some time left, so I went to catch a movie with Ishigaki, the two of us, and after the movie finished I felt surprisingly refreshed. It was probably because I was able to connect with the storyline of the movie huh. So far, in my life, if I were to name one important event of my life, it would be my life as a high-schooler. Before entering high school, whatever I did, I felt that it was boring and dreary. But when I entered high school, I met the greatest friends and teachers and things started to change from that point, and I was able to enjoy life with all my heart. Those three years would always be precious to me! If we’re talking about work, I think that being able to do the “Seishun Dendekedekedeke” was the biggest event. I met the greatest cast over there, and I was very happy, and so in a way I feel that it was the biggest event.
Next, I would like to talk about the CD. Matchy-san is someone who is able to carry out what he wants to do properly, and make it become a huge success. I think that living that way is very cool. Our band will also grow properly, and be successful someday. I think that this is our first step towards that.

My way of refreshing, recently, is to watch DVDs. I would choose the genre according to my current mood, and after watching I’d feel refreshed. Also, another way to refresh oneself is to go to a place where there’s a lot of nature. So far, the moment which was the biggest event of my life? I think it’s when I was able to sing the way I wanted to sing. This is a recent thing, but when I was able to do so, I felt that something inside me had changed, and that my worries had all disappeared. Of course I gained more confidence, and that incident gave me the feeling of wanting to work harder from now on.
Regarding recent happenings, I’d talk about the collaboration with Matchy-san. I view Matchy-san as someone who makes me think “He’s so cool; ah I want to be someone like him.” He lives by doing what he wants to do, and gives results properly too... As a person he is someone he is very big. This time, to be able to do an event together, I felt once again that we were able to do something great with someone great. As an individual, and also as Question?, I feel that it was a very good experience.

Habitually, I like listening to music, but when I want to refresh myself, I listen to songs that I usually don’t really listen to. It’s a rather small thing, but I feel reaaaaally refreshed afterwards. Other than that, there are also times when I meet up with people whom I don’t really contact. In other words, I think that changing your environment is related to feeling refreshed.
For Matchy, before meeting him for the first time, he was a super big senior, so I had a image of him being scary. But after meeting him and talking about some stuff, my image of him changed totally, and I realised that he is actually a very nice person! His way of thinking is also very cool, and I feel that I want to grow up to be an adult like him. This time, I feel very honoured to be able to release a CD with him. Also, to be able to hold an event at the Yokohama Arena, I feel that it was a very good chance for the band, and I am very thankful for it. I want to appeal to those people who do not know about us until now. I want to consider this as a stepping stone, and would be very happy if we’re able to soar high.

I have a foot-massaging machine at home, and when I use that, I have the “Ahh, it’s so refreshing” feeling *laughs*. And, when I have the time, I like going elsewhere to feel refreshed. Venue wise, the beach would be fine, and any other parts of the country would be fine too. During concerts there are many opportunities to visit certain places, but it’s for work so it’s quite hard to relax, so I’m thinking it’s better to go privately..
Regarding the theme of the biggest event of my life, I think it’s to be able to release a CD with Matchy-san. I feel that it is one of the biggest achievement for Question?, and I feel that it’s due to hard work. On Matchy-san? He’s basically a very cool person! Separated into two worlds, the entertainment world and the car racing world, to be successful in both worlds, I feel that it is a very great thing. To be able to work with someone so great, I feel very honoured, and it’s so super that when I watched the PV I couldn’t believe that we were the ones inside it *laughs*. However, I think that this is a great chance, so I’d like to show good results too.

For now, to be in the living room of my house doing nothing is the most refreshing for me *laughs*. Especially when I’m tired, I’d just lie down there and not move at all, but it’s very peaceful. Another option is to meet up with my good friends and hang around and play with them, and the time spent is very important to me. I feel that it is one of the environments I’m familiar with, and when I’m with everyone else, naturally, my feelings change too.
The biggest event of my life so far was when I was able to perform in Domoto Tsuyoshi-kun’s solo concert! It was superbly fun, and at the same time I was able to see how much I’ve grown. I felt calm after that, and it was because of that that I am who I am now, and in all, it was a great experience for me. Also, recently, I also felt that we’re supported by the seniors. Our collaboration with Matchy-san is also included, of course. Despite being a person so successful and big, he still talked to us as of equal levels, and I feel that he is a very great person. Someday when we make our CD debut and report that to Matchy-san, I think that that would be the best repayment, and from now on we’ll take it step by step, and work towards that dream.
