I was talking with a friend about love and relationships tonight.
And I know it's been said a hundred times before.. but people
Communication and respect are the two most important things that can be had in a relationship.
This goes double, nay TRIPLE for long-distance relationships!
But if there's no communication, if there's no respect...
Whatever you have isn't love. It's some warped shell posing as love
And of course. People need space from time to time, that's true. [I sure as hell know that~! UuU!!]
But you use the communication to mention the need of space.
Your other half uses that respect to say "Yeah, that's true. Space."
And it should work the other way around, too!
It just drives me up a wall that people dance around eachother all the time, picking and poking and all of that other garbage when we all usually just want the same thing
Bit of respect
And an ear to take our thoughts.
In return, we should know that we need to give respect
We need to listen.
Relationships are give and take
Not charity.
Not a sample station.
ESPECIALLY with romantic relationships
Romance is so vulnerable
It's not supposed to be this horrible fighting thing.
Just talk
Just listen
Inside voices.
Respect.
Honestly, people need to keep this sort of shit in mind for everything
But if you're only going to use it in one facet in your life
Make it in one's romantic relations.
And no, sex is not always romance. Sorry.
