Someone forgot to lock the gate

It's been a while since I did a more factual running post so, here we go!
This Saturday is the Warrior Dash and I am STOKED! I've seen some video and it looks like a lot of people go at the course slowly, methodically and try not to get overly muddy, tired or wet. Screw that!

This weekend was another confidence builder. Sunday I was bone tired. ( Read more... )

I'm glad you have that view about the WD. Why would anyone sign up who didn't want to get muddy? It's not my thing, personally, but that's why I haven't done it. Lol! I can't wait to see pics.

I'm sorry about Doreen's pain but I'm glad she is OK. And HOORAY for half training! I would say come do the OUC Half in December, but you're already coming to Orlando a month before and that's just crazy talk.

Glad you had a productive weekend of fitness!

There won't likely be anything but a finish line picture. :-/
Doreen has class that day so she won't be with me. No one else is interested in being in a car for 3 and a half hours just to watch me get muddy.

Yea I figure if I survive the WD in good shape, I will be looking for local and casual. Just enough to bottle some race day magic but not enough where I'm tempted to overtrain (again).

Well that is better than nothing!

Good plan. I'll be excited to hear about your training! I am back to the grindstone in the morning. Ugh...

I love the picture too. I think it captures how I feel running almost perfectly.

I will be sure to make a post here about the dash.

That card and its message = smiles.

Sorry to hear your wife is suffering; apparently kidney stones produce some of the worst pain imaginable. Here's to a quick recovery.

Good luck with the WD.

It really is a great card.

Yea, the missus is stoic to a fault so when I hear her crying from pain, something is very, very wrong. She's now on antibiotics and the fever should be coming down soon.

Thanks! I'll have a full write up.

That picture has kept me smiling all day! It's perfect! Best of luck with the Warrior Dash. I'm looking forward to a full report. :)

It is just a brilliant image isn't it?

I'll be sure to bring the gory details...at least I hope gory. I don't want a compound fracture but it would be a shame to do something called a warrior dash and not bleed just a bit.

Nice run....it feels like forever since I've had a long run.

My cousin wants me to do a half-marathon with her our in California in November. Very tempting, but it probably won't happen.

Thanks! I think I like the long runs the most. It gives me time inside my own head to think on life and I enjoy the challenge of sticking to a pace slower than the natural tempo my legs like.

I'm not sold on destination running unless the event is utterly unique (I would participate in Hood to Coast at the drop of a hat). The Disney Wine & Dine race showed me that it has me starting my vacation tired.
