Dude, so so awesome. I'm stoked for you! And yay for having another race coming up too. They really keep me going too.

Thanks :-)
I have some more normal races coming up but I REALLY enjoy this type of thing. Since I'm taking my time in finding out what kind of mileage I'm capable of doing, I'm just enamored with a race that tests my total (including mental) fitness instead of just how good I am at LSD running. THIS is incentive, this is what I needed.

Thanks Marsha!
I think that was the one thing that I wasn't expecting, the number of people cheering people on at the finish line. Lots of folks brought a posse and while they were waiting for their finisher they were just wonderful.

I was in the Atlanta Airport on Sunday and saw someone with a Warrior Dash shirt on and thought of you. This sounds awesome!

HAH!
I think I need to wear mine to the gym tonight.
These things really are wonderful. It's a shame that the Leadville 100 already has the perfect motto for these things: "You're tougher than you think you are and you can do more than you think you can."

I love how you're so much muddier than everyone else in the pic! Badass. Thanks for sharing this and for writing about your experience in detail. I gotta say, I'm kinda terrified about it now, but it seems sooo worth it!

I figured if I was going to have to traverse a mud pit, playing to the crowd with a fairly zesty running dive was the right way to do it. It really was my pleasure to write about this. Not only was it great fun but I wanted a record of how I felt while it was still fresh in my head. Don't let my account get into your head. That was the interesting dramatic part. Watching a more objective account of the very same course shows how much good muddy fun was had.

These things are VERY worth doing (and why I'm training for the Spartan). The joy of overcoming is primal and pure.

You bet! NOTHING exfoliates like mud and gravel. I'm all aglow!
