So I was thinking about my Christmas Wish List and came to the conclusion that what I really want is books. After this crazy semester I am kinda banking on the fact that studying in Ecuador is going to be way more lax, and I'm hoping I have time to actually read books that aren't class books. I'm reading Water for Elephants right now and it's really good, it's an adventure, and I think it's a nice break from super-intellectual readings (though it's not shallow by any means). Apparently it was originally a Nano that actually got turned into a novel!

I really like the author Sherman Alexie.

Catcher in the Rye and To Kill A Mockingbird are two of my favorite books ever, I'd recommend them if you haven't read them.

Also, I really love The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon. It's an interesting style and a cool perspective.

Oh, he's kind of weird, but I also like the author Douglas Coupland.

I've read all of those actually and enjoyed all of them (especially Catcher. Love, love, love.) But I really could not get into The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. It gave me a headache reading it and I got really frustrated with the characters. XP

Aww, really? That's sad, I really like it, haha.

Yes, Catcher is so much love.

I'm not giving summaries. If you're interested, you can look them up.

- The Beach by Alex Garland. Video Games + MTV + Gen X + Lord of the Flies = The Beach. It's brillaint and amazing. Garland is my favorite author.

- A Dirty Job by Christopher Moore. Occasionally pretentious but ultimatley touching in the end.

- The Southern Vampire Mysteries by Charlaine Harris. Good ole vampire tales with Southern sass.

- The Coma by Alex Garland. Short and twisitng. Very intersting.

- The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera. Absolutley amazing.

- Bridget Jones's Diary by Helen Fielding. SOOOO funny. And very real.
