Ok like you yesterday I was so angry, and even now that tweet seems like a lie, yeah its coming which is great. But not anytime soon. That tweet made me think it was a few episodes away.
I actually thought the reunion would happen in 7x10. Now I think it will happen more like the last episode of the season at least.
Watch the promo 7x07 last scene ML scene and they are both smiling
My heart sank at what SR told Aussiello, too. And I was going, why then LET them grow already! Instead, what did we get this week? Coffee duty instead of scrubbing in? WTF? *sigh*
But as Liz said, they are actually smiling in this promo. Maybe there will be a M/L scene after all...
I think we will get a scene love the look on lexie face.
The thing that really pissed me off was the fact that shonda clearly lied to us it's coming the way she said it made us think it was happening soon not months away.
I KNOW. She's messing with us, and I hate it. Of course, she COULD be messing with us even more by making us think it WON'T happen sooner. I'm done trying to wrap my head around what she's doing.
I think we'll get a scene too (I hope). I don't need them together right now...I just need to know it WILL happen. And I agree, the look on Lexie's face is ADORABLE.
Do you really think Mark and Lexie are 'soulmates'? I mean, I don't mind them as a couple when written decently, but... soulmates? Not so much... actually, not at all! So, I'm interested to see why you think they are...
Okay, maybe I do agree that soulmates is the wrong word. Do I think they were destined to meet each other? No. Could someone else have made Mark "change his ways" so to speak. Probably.
I think that it was because of Lexie's influence that he became a better person. And now I don't think it's so much that they're soulmates, but more or less that they're impacted each other in ways that no one else can. I think Mark both influenced and crushed Lexie in a way that she'll never let anyone else do. Same with Mark. Do I think he idealizes her to a flaw? Absolutely. But if they did grow up a bit, as Shonda said, I think they'd be perfect together.
I guess my argument is that they more or less named each other as their soulmate in subtle, little ways. I don't think anyone else will be able to affect Lexie the way Mark did, and vice versa.
I agree with pretty much everything you said in that middle paragraph. Except I do think that other people probably could have done the same things for them... I mean, I think Addison was well on the way to making Mark a 'better person' in season 3 with the 60 day thing and the way it ended when he realised she'd slept with Alex...
And we have no idea re. Lexie because, besides Alex (and that was never written as something 'functional'), we've never seen her in a relationship with anyone else to know how she'd flourish. It's a bit hard (imo) to call 'soulmates' when nothing else has really been shown for comparison, especially for her.
I guess I just baulk at the word 'soulmates' because it's such a bandied about saying that ultimately doesn't mean a great deal in the end anyway.
