Despite my best intentions it seems that I am not capable of doing updates on a regular basis.

I am still looking for a new job. A few promising nibbles, that's about it.

Yeah, I'm still baffled on the weaving thing. There are some hand manipulated techniques done when as the fabric is being woven, but they're not really lace, per se, and not really needlework, either.
