a little viking art roundup

I totally have "writer's block" now - AKA it is hard to go back to your regular writing life after some sort of black-out writing EPISODE where you could churn out 5000 words of handjobs a day and the only impediment to doing so was needing to sometimes take a break to actually act like a functional human being who interacts with humans/nurtures ( Read more... )

Wow, that comic is seriously amazing *_* Arthur looks really scary in this one...my viking!Arthur just looks disgruntled XD

I've printed the fic for leisurely re-reading on the sofa when I have a bit more time. Ever since I first read it I can't get the picture Arthur's naked, tattooed back out my mind, I totally want to draw it ...except I have absolutely no idea whatt Eames's medieval drawing stlye translated into tattoos would look like.

And thanks for pimping my art :)

well, obviously Eames' art is TOTALLY UNIQUE in every way and features a lot of earthy pictures of naked dudes, but:

1. Here are a bunch of pages from an illustrated bible from Lindisfarne (AKA the first raided abbey) - I actually think Anglo-Saxon/Viking art would lend itself really well to tattoos because everything is so flat. It's neat how twisty and elaborate everything is (especially pages 14 & 24)

2. Here is a really gorgeous anglo-saxon dragon scabbard

but obviously Eames would have been influenced by Viking art, which is also intricate and amazing

I, too, watched Bull Durham at an impressionable age. And, yes! That scene was *very* memorable to me. I think my favourite part was Crash tying her up to paint her toes. :D

YES. Arthur should totally tie Eames up and paint his toes.

i have been mulling over this especially after the post you had where you had an alternate to the viking AU where it was Arthur that was the slave and Eames the viking.

And it's just so interesting but you did have those fics (the one where Eames or Arthur hides in the bathroom while dangerous guys come) and they were completely different but so believable.

It's just so interesting is all, how switching their places with the same plot so completely changes the whole entire tone and feel. And it makes me wonder how this would work in a dream were Arthur and Eames to swap roles and jobs. HMMMM thinking out loud.

OOH I LOVE IT. Arthur as a forger would be so - PRECISE and CAREFUL and think about how he would say that line about how he has a character that will work well (that blond woman who lifts Fischer's wallet.) and Eames as point initially seems like all talk no action but is then ALL ACTION NO TALK ASS KICKING ( ... )

HE would be SO PRECISE. He would probably have like, character studies of each individual forge written up.

RIGHT? I WAS THINKING ABOUT THIS WHEN I WAS ALL HOPPED UP ON DR. PEPPER.
