I've never been sure exactly what to make of that site. I mean, I know what they're getting at, but there's just been a feeling... However, in reading the link I can see an essence of You shining through, I think I see the elements you connect to, and those must be Truth (*nods to Keats*).
This link goes a little way to more aptly defining my own...view, I guess (and this is not to impose that view on you, dearest one, it's only sharing <3): http://www.halexandria.org/dward269.htm
ah, loveliest of the pearl-heart-precious; your sharing couldn't wouldn't never ever be construed as an imposition.
there are certain ... aspects of the site that aren't resonating with me either, but the 'hymns' pages, love... o, read them! there is much loveliness to be found.
thankyou! i've been pointed t'ward halexandria before. i'm going to devour this link of yours, (of course!)
it's always worth keeping on the kittentoes when dealing with the subject of personal beliefs, especially in the digital realm *smiles* But thank you for setting my mind at ease so elegantly ^^
I will find your page of soulsongs and devour it likely, star-feathered nightingale maiden <3
well, of course. a mind so lovely as yours, with its glittering caverns and iridescent wellsprings, ought not be in a state of unease over my possible reactions to a gesture for which gratitude is the correct response.
although, i do understand that many can be quite protective over their particular viewpoint(s). especially, as you say, in the digital realm. the lack of intonation and facial expression can be quite difficult, especially for those predisposed t'ward taking things negatively.
i found the site because i was searching for an answer to a question posed in one of Mr. Cohen's early songs. interestingly, one of their 'hymn' pages came up, and i found that a great many of his songs are understood by the curator of the site as they are understood by me.
i also found a poem/song which I'd never ever laid eyes upon before this night... I knew the words were his from the third sentence, and held my breath til I came to the end and found his name...
Nice. That is a good starting point. It always bothered me how people would just jump from orthodox religion int "Wicca" or "Paganism" without understanding the origins of both. They are rooted in the EXPERIENCE of the Divine, not the doctrine, and without experiencing it, we can never know whatever it is that they call "God." I'm grateful for sites that encourage that free thought. :) ~D
