So you're going to be there a whole year? Wow. May I ask why you enjoy living there, since it sounds like you've done this before and know what to expect? Or is this a missionary type trip? In other words, what is your motivation? I'm fascinated! :)
why did i enjoy living there? hmm... good question:) how does one begin to discuss the differences between china and america? i'm not going as a missionary. i'm just going back because i liked it and missed it when back here. i miss the food (american chinese food is not even recognizable as anything like what i had there), the night markets, hearing chinese, speaking chinese, teaching english, riding trains, and probably other aspects i'm not thinking of just now. i liked how much more i walked there, and the community aspect that i just don't get at home. one reason i decided to go back was because i'm now thinking about the possibility of teaching english as a foreign language as a profession, here in america. i thought more experience could only help me with that. i also thought it'd be fun to go back while i'm still in close touch with both chinese friends and american friends there (and in neighboring countries). also, i originally thought it'd be convenient to go for two years, so i'd still be there when the 2008 beijing
