the whole city is rumbling and crackling right now. from one window alone, i can see at least twelve places where fireworks are going up. and i'm in the heart of a city of over six million. it's pretty awesome. i bet this goes on all night.

Happy New Year! Bethany and I went out for "Chinese" last night... You'll never believe what they had playing on the TV in the restaraunt -- CCTV 9!

I just read some article in the BBC News about this -- it's the year of the Golden Pig, right? I would be pretty stoked about golden pigs too. ;) Happy New Year!

Apparently this is a big problem in Indonesia, where the Muslim community and the Chinese community are having issues over the Year of the Pig... but I don't know anything else about it.
