Well, every day of my life so far has been spent not walking the East Mendip Way, but I was especially not walking it on Friday the 2nd and Saturday the 3rd of October. The Friday walk should have consisted of a 6 miles from Wells to Shepton Mallet (graded Easy), and the Saturday of 13 miles to Frome (also graded Easy). My friend J (

The George is lovely! I can see why you'd want to stay there.

Lol - I suppose it is charming around here, which is the fun of being a tourist, because I tend to see the work-a-day side to the place, and forget to describe it as anything else. Though I do still stop and stare happily at its charming bits. *g*
Really pleased you enjoyed the rest of Detectorists too - isn't it great? It bears re-watching a ridiculous number of times too, because its one of those shows with lots of little subtleties that you only spot once you're more familiar with other things that have happened. I went to the cinema at least 8 times, I think, and there were only ever 4 or 5 people in the room, so it didn't feel risky - or economically viable! I haven't got around to watching that episode of Blackadder, yet, though I am currently working my way through Monty Python on Netflix and looking forward to finding out which episode has the "Bath and Wells" sketch.
i was surprised that Frome had direct trains on a Sunday - and such quick trains at that.
I'm so glad to hear that you and Liz are now actively in touch. I'm looking forward to hearing how your coffee goes. So much to catch up on!
