Jesus! It's a scary world, and nowhere is scarier than the internet. I can't believe people are more concerned about free speech than eliminating pedophiles (whether active or just letting sick imaginations run wild in creative writing) from livejournal. u-n-b-e-l-i-e-v-a-b-l-e ( Read more... )

I'd rather have some innocent blogs - mine included - deleted than leave a paedophile free to roam for even one day more.

Yeah, I feel the same---that's why I don't get the whining. Some people just don't seem to have any moral compass whatsoever and it bugs the crap out of me. *takes another deep breath*

Well, if I ever wander into one I'd have a few pithy words to say in return *takes deep breath*

As for HP fandom what I've heard about it is enough to put me off, lol. And I didn't know about a Snape/Harry pairing...an 11 yeard old and a man in his forties---wonderful! *instantly wants to puke* F**k me but there's some seriously twisted people around.

Totally right.

I think the thing that ticked people off was the way it was done. From what I heard, many of the journals that were suspended weren't even gone over. One word appears and poof they're gone. I heard that several support groups and such were on the hit list. LJ/6A just didn't handle this correctly.

People should really look at what they are writing. I've had I don't know how many people mention this on my flist. There's free speech and then there's free speech.

*shakes head yes*

I get that, hun. In fact I came into it late, so the pictures pretty big if you get what I mean. I definately agree LJ should have been less hasty and been more thorough than to simply wipe journals based on an interest search. Still, IMO the intent was a good one and people should bear that in mind. Yikes, some of the comments I read were just downright hysterical. *shakes head too*

I didn't even look at the comments because I knew they would be crazy.

They were trying to do a good thing. I really think in the end they'll have rooted out some bad people.
