((Since education was mostly restricted to privileged people, her grammar and spelling isn’t always going to be perfect.))Well if this ain’t the most peculiar sort of situation I seem to have stumbled in. Well, at least to my memory, which is a bit foggy. I must have knocked it good when I fell out of that odd fleshy thing. It looks like something

Hi! I'm Duo Maxwell. I bet you probably don't know your name yet, but that's okay, you should remember it pretty soon.
Oh, yeah, and that diary is a magical one. I'm not the diary talking, I'm another person, in a different part of the town. The journals, or diaries, or whatever you want to call them, are how we communicate to one another!

You say I have an "old vocabulary"? Well, I'm no spring hen that is for certain, but the years have been kind if I say so. I don't know anything about "another period", though.
Oh yes! And it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance there, Mr. Maxwell. It is truly bothersome that I don't know my own name, but I am sure it'll come back to me in no time. I suppose for now, you can just call me Misses.

You'll remember your name for example, after your wings grow.

In the mean time, I have been keeping myself quite busy. I always say, you gotta live in the here and now, and not fret over what went on in the past. Well... at least that sounds like something I'd say.
Did you say I'd grow wings? I have seen quite a few folk around with wings, I was certainly curious about it. At first I thought I must be surrounded by angles! I don't know how I feel about having wings now, but leaning my name again would be nice.
I have been going by Misses at the moment, may I ask your name?

Busy? With the shop that man let you run? I'd say that's pretty lucky, tumbling into a place like that. I work too, but... Haha, lets just say my boss isn't so nice.
And that's an interesting philosophy, Misses... and a wise one, I would say.
Yes, you will. All the Haibine grow wings about a day after they hatch.. I'm afraid its a bit painful, though.
It's Dexter. Dexter Morgan. Nice to meet you, Misses.

That's right. I did seem to bring a bit of luck with me when I arrived here, didn't I? The old man minds his own busines most of the time, but keeps a pretty keen eye on things. Its a down right shame that you didn't fair so well. A gent such as yourself should have a better go of it, I'd say.
Much obliged Mr. Morgan. I'd like to think that it is a waste of good time worrying about things out of one's control, especially when there is work to be done.
Is it now? That might explain the aches I have had since I come to. I just thought I did my back in from falling out of that thing and working around this old shop. But I am sure I'll manage. And thank you kindly for the warning.

Oh, there I go again, my appetite precedes me, huh. My name's Zell, nice to meet you! Do you talk like the way you write? It's kinda funny.

I would be pleased to have a customer, you feel free to drop by for a nosh whenever you like, love.
Zell is it? That is an interesting name, and it is a pleasure there Mr. Zell. I can't recall my name at the moment, but feel free to call me Misses for now.
Do I? You happen to be the second lad to say so. I suppose I come from humble beginnings, unlike you lot. Though, I must admit, I am a bit baffled by some of the words you all use.
