So yesterday, I didn't talk to Willy at all. I know it is better if we avoid conversing while he soul-searches, but it made me feel like shit. He texted me this morning which made me feel better

Oh Julie...I'm so sorry...you should tell him that...that you love him and no matter how imperfect he thinks he is, or how neglectful he think he's been will only get worse with distance...Of course, you can't smother him, but offer your help, tell him that any relationship needs compromise to work, working together, and you both can't do that if one is shut out...these could be very important questions he's pondering...if he doesn't seek you input in important matters now, who says he will later? He needs more than anything to be honest with you...If he is thinking about the direction of his life, etc...then if he plans on sharing that life with you, then you both need to work together, then again...if he's shutting you out in order to debate the state of your relationship, and whether or not he wants to continue...then he needs to tell you so that you are not on an emotional tight rope for however long he feels he needs
