That epilogue... god. Sucked. Ass. Seriously. Albus? James, Lily? Cliche, much? I could see Lily, because his mother and her influence was a huge part of him and yet so understated all those years. It would be fitting for him to remember her that way. James, otoh, has had his lion's share of attention from Harry, and somehow I thought his name would (or should) be relegated to second status

I liked the use of Lily in the epilogue too, but not Lily and James together. For one thing, cliche. For another, kinda freaky o.O I've read one or two post-DH fics so far, and they're absolutely mind-bending. Far too many names flying around which I associate with other characters! "But which James?" I think to myself. James Potter or the other James Potter? :S The mind boggles.
But I loved that he named one of his kids after Severus too, and Harry's reassurance that to be in Slytherin wouldn't be the end of the world. It was the single reference in the entire bloody book to any sort of reconcilation between the houses. What happened to uniting them? As someone pointed out on another journal, the only one who made a round-about sort-of attempt to unite the houses was VOLDEMORT, when he decided to abolish Sorting. WTF is that supposed to be telling us? Genuinely confused as to her message here
