Tactical voting is the way to go, I reckon - whoever is best-placed in one's constituency! The parties can't admit to it officially, but I bet this could have a lot of legs (if that's the expression I'm looking for ...) at grassroots level. There are plenty of people worried about the NHS, or about schools, or about Brexit after all! (even tory voters need to be encouraged to consider refraining just this once (the pro-Remainers, for example) even if they fully intend to stay tory in the long term). Tactical all the way, dammit. I'd rather labour, and where labour can't then I'd rather lib-dem or green or independent or anything (not counting the kippers, obvs) but this lot!
My only hmmn is that last time I voted tactically because I didn't have much choice, we still ended up with the bloody Tories, and now look where we are... Although in this new place it looks like my own best bet is to vote with my heart, and hope that the Tory majority will think about what's been happening and vote intelligently (which, yeah, oxymoron... *sigh*)
Well, yes :-\ ... but it's our best chance, I think. Like any voting tactic it depends on enough people doing it - but if I lived somewhere where (for the sake of argument) there was a tory incumbent with a smallish majority, a ghastly lib-dem (not that they're all ghastly, I mean; just say my local one was) and a lovely green or labour with no chance in my location: I would hold my nose and vote for the lib dem, because my own preference isn't going to get in anyway. (maybe I'd write to them and say why, even *g*) Nothing's for sure, but we have to try, eh.
