How do you drown a pebble with a raindrop, unless the raindrop is heavy, pregnant with molasses, prickly with nettles and sharp as a sour blackberry picked impatiently after the summer sun. Except that there are never any maps to help direct the explorer to the treasure, despite the best efforts of all involved. And sometimes the treasure is never quite where you expect to find it.

But Pirates being what they are, they usually return to port, although the welcome may not be welcoming. The babble of mouths is always there, whispering, ever whispering, like the sounds of the lost sea.
