In Which I Still Have a Severe Lack of Life
I kinda promised myself I'd write in this thing more. So yeah. I'm doing that. Now.
.001 I changed my layout! :D Sorry, had to be Captain Obvious there. Dunno, kind of got tired of my old one (pink's not really my thing anyways), and I fell in love with pretty much everything over at refuted. The header's my own, from some picture that I, for the life of me, cannot figure out the source of. This is why I need to start copying down URLs or something. I at first thought it was from KissWood (gorgous manwha, by the way), but that turned out to be wrong. A cursory Google search turns out this site, but since I don't quite remember visiting it, I guess it'll have to remain a mystery for now.
.002 I'm a mod now! Crazy, ain't it? I'm the official head mod for Team Hoenn over at pokenav, which is basically a land comm for Pokemon. It's a bit of work, but I'm enjoying it so far. It lets me flex my graphicking and web design muscles. We're not actually open yet, but once we do (sometime around late September/early October), I'm hoping we get a good amount of traffic. It sounds like a lot of fun and I'm glad to be a part of it.
.003 Speaking of land comms, I've been sitting on an unfinished application to hogwartsishome for a couple months now. Dunno, that place is intimidating. I'm hoping to eventually finish it and get in though, since it looks like a lot of fun too.
.004 So, remember my post back in June, where I said I'd try to finish a bunch of anime? Well, I kinda failed at that. Hard. I'm still on (quite literally) the second-to-last episode of Soul Eater and episode ten-ish of Wolf's Rain. So much for that.
But I have finished Darker Than Black! And it is so good. Like, I can't stress that enough. SO GOOD. It hits like, every single one of my favorite tropes. Seriously, the people behind it are absolute geniuses. I mean, I've seen other Bones work (FMA, Soul Eater, Eureka Seven), but I don't know if I enjoyed any of them as much I did this. Careful Sunrise, Bones is quickly on its way to beating you for Best Anime Company Ever. But seriously, it's just so good. X-men powers, gritty realism, city noir design? It's like someone created an anime specifically for me. All it's missing is a giant mecha. And I've decided that Hei/Yin is my new OTP, beating out Lelouch/Kallen and Harry/Hermione. Sure, they gave me lolicon issues at first (Yin's like, what? 15? 16? And Hei can't be younger than 20, I think), but who cares? Their love is so pure. And can I just say that I squealed loud enough for my entire neighborhood to hear when I saw the season 2 dub trailer? Because I did. IT HAS THE OVAS IN IT. I MIGHT ACTUALLY BUY THIS THING. GUH.
Click to view.005 So yeah, speaking of dubs, I'm getting rather impatient waiting for dubs. There are so many cool series that I want to try, but aren't dubbed yet. I said I'd wait, but really, it's getting hard. Like Star Driver. Hot guys, mechas, and homosexual subtext. Honestly, it's perfect, but I wanna see the dub. And Toaru Majutsu no Index. Magical powers, 'nuff said. Also Arakawa Under the Bridge and Chaos;Head. Somone start dubbing these, plzkthx?
.006 Video games! First off, I really, really, really want The World Ends with You. It just looks so cool. Set in Shibuya, it seems like the quintessential JRPG, so totally up my alley.
Also, I finished Pokemon Black. I have no words for how good that game is. It's just . . . I don't even know. It's so perfect. Kickass Pokemon (hey there, Hydreigon), wonderful characters (marry me, N!), beautiful score (Yoko Kanno has competition), and awesome story (I'm replaying just to experience it again). I feel the only thing missing is the ability to punch Ghetsis in the face.
.007 I also have a bone to pick with Cartoon Network. Y U NO AIR YOUNG JUSTICE, CN? Honestly, how long has it been since the last new episode? The leaked one doesn't count. I swear to God, I am like, two seconds away from throwing a fit. The show is so good and it's certainly going places, but it's never gonna reach them if CN keeps shafting it for Adventure Time and Regular Show (no offense to either of those shows; I enjoy them both, but come on). So yeah, expect YJ icons in the next batch as I try to console myself with yet another perusal of its Tropes page. (WARNING: Do not do on school nights.)
