Ya, good call. Yesterday I was thinking.... ohhhh shit it's a month away. I got the time off the other day, which went smoothly.

Anyway, I think we should come up with a list of essentials and non-essentials. We obviously can't overpack so I think non-essentials will be an important thing to post.

Also, Chris and Maggie, you should probably state whether or not you are actually staying in TO for the night, or leaving early Sat morning. Plus... who is going in whose car?

The car situation her sits at a maybe, I will have to ask my dad when he gets home today or tomorrow. He should be in a relatively good mood because he's on vacation... I'll have to find out the route for getting there first though, so he doesn't think I"m all "WAH LEMME DRIVE I DUNNO WHAT IS GOING ONNNN!"... Paolo has a good route, but we all need to agree on it... Oh, and I think we should all go at the same time, in case something happens. All Fri evening, or all Sat morn... that sound smart?

I'm not sure if I'm going yet - and I can't help knowing till probally the last minute, but I'll try and help any way I can. ( and maybe I'll have someone to bring - I have to see how things go ) I looked this up. It's map quest's drivign directions, didn't know anyone elses addys or postal codes so I put mine in - you can change it as you please but it says without stops it'll take 8 1/2 hours

Those direction are OK except we will NOT be taking the 407 because it is a TOLL ROAD. Stay on the 401 to interchange...about 350 or so and then connect to the 400 and go north. The 407 is just too expensive to drive on.

ok. this is what i know.

I'm driving. this means we have two options.
1. We leave the night before and crash at my aunt's house in toronto (me and the three people in my car, four in an emergency)
2. I need a backup driver WITH THEIR OWN INSURANCE in my car.

As of yet, I believe it is julie and myself in my car.

Maggie's car rules:
1. The stereo is shared, everyone can listen to whatever they want for a certain length of time.
2. If you poke, prod or try to distract the driver in any way, you will be abandoned at a rest stop. I HATE being poked.
3. For the love of god, don't eat ridiculously messy foods in my car! I'm still finding sprinkles from a cupcake that jules ate in my car like 6 months ago! This means no spaghetti, no ice cream cones (cups are ok), no tacos etc.
4. Jules called shotgun for the first leg of the trip.

If you would like to apply for the exciting position of occupant of maggie's car, pls apply with resume to www.livejournal.com/users/chef_boyardee

Yo yooo, I can drive if you want, that is... if I'm in your car, I can drive Chris' too if he wants, I don't care how it goes down. And I have insurance.

I think the no poke rule is a general, it's a lot more dangerous driving on the highway and I hope there isn't a bunch of horsing around that will distract the driver.

I think you have to have your OWN insurance, as in ... your name, not under your parents' name..
At least I'm almost positive that's how it works.

SO then.. it'd be someone like me or Chris that she means (though I'm not going)

Oh, Paolo and I came up with a list of who should go if we can't get a third car and it include stuffing a 5th into Maggie's car... It was pretty easy to make cause we know who was in this from the get go... well now there is a compliction, soooo we need to figure out a contingency plan ( ... )

i say that no one is left behind and we WILL find that third car, cuz i'd hate to say "no" to people who get excited about going

I absolutely agree, having a third car is not an option, its something we will have.
