Help! No Insurance!

I'm in college, so I'm still on my parents' insurance. My dad just got fired from his job, and I'm not going to have any health insurance starting next week. I know there are a decent number of people here who have navigated this before

The first thing to do is to learn about the health insurance your college offers. (Pick up a packet at your health center.)

College health centers are a good stepping off point --- they can normally offer you a variety of information about different plans. I personally have Blue Shield of California, and I know they have plans where you would pay like $78/month.

Umm...the issue is none of those plans cover preexisting conditions in the first six months...which is really what I need it for. I've only found one plan so far that would start covering my meds and doctor visits before February :-(
