you can secure the window by putting a piece of particle board on the other side of it. If you ever actually needed the window in the garage (who NEEDS a window in their garage ffs, its like they install windows in garages so they can be broken into...) you could bracket the piece of particle board so that it opens up on the inside. I guess it all depends on how good the lighting is in your garage.
The doorknob locks on garages are also insufficient, so an independent lock is best, use the big garage door to get in/out and lock the door from the inside with a padlock. I had my old garage secured really well for me, so if you need any great ideas, I have some.

Yeah, we were going to do that, but we don't have an external door remote for the house. It's a really low crime area, so I really didn't want to batten the hatches. It is a consideration now, though. Dammit.
