...and apparently I got a new friend out it. Is galactic_dev someone that I've met in real life that you know of?

I'm virtually positive you've never met him... he's a friend of mine of about 25 years who also grew up in the Crystal/New Hope area. He lives in Colorado now but we're still in frequent contact. He's quite liberal (probably more so than me, which is saying something) and very politically active.
