Oh come on...

There can be only one...again. Really? Remake, remake, remake. Now Highlander will be "reimagined". I suppose it's a mercy that they're at least going to stop pushing out those excreble "sequels".

Gah.

Originality is dead.

You know what upsets me most about this? The soundtrack will be different. What's the point of watching it without Queen?

And what if they get an actor who can actually do a scottish accent?

Why would anyone want to remake Highlander?

Because they're working their way up to Citizen Kane?

I know, I know. It was a fun thing once in a while, but that's all they're doing now.

I have something for you to add to your post.

Talking of remakes of classic cult films with a soundtrack by Queen, there is to be a remake of Flash Gordon. And no, I'm not referring to the execrable Sci-Fi channel series.

Honestly, I'm not terribly upset about that because we know it will be a "real" scifi movie and the old (best!) Flash will stand alone. The Highlander thing will be attempted as an "upgrade". Admittedly, I was very pleasantly surprised with BSG, but there again, it was a departure from the original rather than a "reinvention". Fuckers.

True, it's not so bad.

Perhaps I'll rent them both and watch them back to back. Highlander first, probably.

Maybe we're just being too gloomy about this. Maybe the new Highlander will be a raucous dayglo tongue-in-cheek adventure and the new Flash will be a well-executed SciFi adventure, and they'll both be worth while.

*Pause*

Bwahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!1! Sorry, I couldn't keep a straight face on that one.

No, that was an official sequel using the Duncan McCloud character. I haven't seen that one yet because hellziggy (who is heavily enamoured of Adrian Paul) only got through half and deleted it to prevent me from putting myself through it.

I don't know, she's pretty hardcore when it comes to him. She may have tried that and couldn't make it any further.
