I am taking a break from 'pretending to work' to calculate just how much work I have to do. My awesome maths skills are telling me that if I write 5000 words/week for the next three weeks, I will get everything done and even have time to edit and stuff in 9th Week. 5000 words. I can totally do that. Really.

*hugs* That sounds unpleasant, but totally doable. Good luck! I'm glad you have macaroons to comfort you during this hard time (why did I never explore Cowley properly? That cafe sounds lovely). And 300 words is progress! Well done. (I wrote both of my extended essays - one 6000-word essay, one 3000-word essay paired with 3000-word commentary - in a mad rush right before the deadline, and didn't sleep. It was immensely horrible; you are excellent and wise for avoiding that.)

Avoiding that is basically my main goal; I'm not sure it's going to happen, but that is the fate I'm trying to avoid. (See also: the English language paper. OH GOD, the English language paper).

I wish we had a spare six weeks or something in which we could explore Oxford and Cowley, and watch Buffy, and go to interesting places and generally do All The Things.
...Except I keep reading Cowley as Crowley and having my mind go to Good Omens places. I'm not sure I would lie to explore Crowley.

It's a good goal to have! You are wise.

If only. Maybe one day one or both of us will be living on Oxford again, as actual people with evenings and weekends to call our own, and we can do All The Things then.
