Dear CoffeeRepublic: "Iced lemon tea" is not water+lemon syrup+ice; I could make that at home for about three pence. Thank you.

Dear Oxford: I don’t know enough about how your disciplinary procedures generally work to pass judgement, but I am not impressed with the way the Proctors’ investigation into my late coursework was entirely between the ( Read more... )

Whaaat? £50 is ridiculous, and they should definitely a)have been in communication with you during the process and b)not have told you only a day before when you had to pay. Poor you. *hugs*

Sorry to hear about the French oral (and I completely understand about lack of motivation. Mine was the tip of a crazy iceberg, though, so I hope it is not the same for you!).

I am glad you didn't drown while on holiday! Yay for nice food (which American confectionery?) and being pretty okay and your oesophagus behaving! Stress and exams and angst are, of course, less good. Good luck with it all; you will kick the exams' arses.

(What books and TV? After Finals, I am almost certainly going to press Dollhouse on you and insist on hearing YOUR THOUGHTS on each episode. It's taken over my brain.)

Yeah, I think the ridiculously short time was due to delays in Oxford's internal mail - the date on the letter I was shown was two weeks ago, but it only made its way to the Merton admins on Tuesday. But still, it's not exactly good practice.

I did not drown! I might have alarmed my family somewhat by explaining to them what frithinthorns had explained to me about Popular Misconceptions Of Drowning Vs The Scarier Reality, but I thought it best to be prepared...

Thanks for your encouragement! I am looking forward to Dollhousing.

No, it isn't. Sorry they're being somewhat useless.

Your parents should have been grateful for the information - preparedness is all. Was this about how real!drowning is much quieter and less dramatic (and thus less noticeable)?

I am looking forward to your doing it! But yes, good luck - I hope the oral goes well today, and I hope you kick Finals' arse.
