Background & Personality:
Holly was born into a loving home in suburban Long Island. She had a mother, an art teacher, a father who taught shop, and an older sister. As a young girl, she loved to play with legos and train sets more then she did dolls and dresses. Her father expressed some concern over her tomboyish natures, but her mom assured him that she was the same way as a child and not to worry.
Out of all her relatives Holly liked her Grandma Rose the best. Grandma always had the best bedtime stories and gave her the toys that she liked playing with the most. When she was eight, Grandma Rose took her to the Cradle of Aviation Museum to see a special exhibit on Republic Aircraft. During the Second World War Grandma worked for Republic building airplanes. There were pictures of Grandma with other women, all with their hair tied back under scarves, standing in the factory. There was even one that Grandma pointed out of her on the wing of a bomber. Grandma then took her over to to see old fighter plane. Grandma told her she remembered working on that one. Overwhelmed by curosity, Holly ducked under the ropes and walked up to the plane. That's when the world went blurry and funny colors. She felt like she did when she spun around too fast on the playground tire swing.
When the world came back into focus things looked different. She looked back over at Grandma, who was just standing there with a big smile on her face. "Come on dear, we should go. There's lots I need to tell you." The old woman said.
"What's going on?" the little girl asked.
"Something wonderful." Grandma answered with a smile. That's when Helli learned all about being a knocker, just like her grandmother. Grandma Rose taught Helli how to make all sorts of neat things, how they worked, and about other knockers and fae. Trips with Grandma into Goblin Town became regular occurrences in her life.
During her first year of High School, Grandma finally convinced her Mom and Dad to send her to a boarding school in Pennsylvania. Upon graduation from high school she enrolled in a liberal arts college also in Pennsylvania. Her grandmother holds out hopes that she'll study engineering and maybe find a nice Jewish boy to settle down with, but Helli's sights are set on the theater, not being on stage, but behind it.
