* utako-chan hasn't done the repo for the latest episode yet. I'll translate it when she does. The semester will be ending soon, I am getting really busy with my studies too. If I don't translate/update soon enough, I'll certainly make up after the semester ends ne. ^^

* In this episode: Massu talked about his most memorable cosplay, what he would cosplay as if he were to go to a Halloween party. He also talked about jumping over vaulting boxes when he was little & answered other questions relating to sports, etc. ^^

Masuda Takahisa no Master Hits
2008.10.31

1. Opening: Today is Halloween!!
~ Massu says that nowadays, more and more Japanese people celebrate Halloween. He mentions that a friend invited him to a party. Shige was invited too. Massu says that he didn't go in the end. He is fine with cosplay, but he wouldn't like it as much if there were too many people. Shige went to the party. Massu thinks Shige probably have lots of cosplay items (lol). He says that if he were going, he'd go as a pumpkin~ and at the party, he'll sing "pumpkin"! (lol)

2. Question: The listener asks what is Massu's most memorable cosplay? (She says she believes that Massu has tried many and Massu bursted out laughing when reading this part.)
~ The most memorable one (from TV shows)~ Massu says that it was probably nurse. He said that they took pictures using their phones (lol). Then he remembered! There was 増子(Masuko)!!** (lol). He explains that she is the wife of a newly-wed couple. Massu says that it could get a bit addicting after getting into the role several times, lol. Finally, Massu comments that he regrets not going to the party. (lol)

** hello-q: say that you remember.. yes, Masuko = Honey = Massu's role in Ai Q. XD

3. This week's NEWS: Starting tomorrow (Nov.1) will be Fukui's party!
~ Last week they started at Sendai; Fukui is the second venue. Massu says that those listening to Master Hits now are probably mostly Kanto people. Actually, (party at) Tokyo Dome will be coming soon. Massu talks about how there are always lots of memories when they go to each location. The air and the scenery are all memories; besides those, there's also food of course, lol, Massu hears that there are nice fish in season now. Massu is looking forward to it. He'll be going to Fukui tomorrow morning.**

** Note: Master Hits episodes are pre-recorded. From this, seems like this episode was recorded on Thursday ne, since all members except for Ryo travelled to Fukui on Friday. ^^

Special Announcement for This Episode:
Massu says that he is giving out Happy Bath Day headbands!

Music: Happy Birthday

4. Question: The listener says that her daughter's birthday is on February 29th, and asks Massu when he thinks is the best time to celebrate her birthday.
~ Massu says that if it's Feb.29th then they should probably celebrate at 12AM (b/w Feb.28 & Mar.1), as soon as the Feb. 28th ends, or at around that time. He gave the listener two headbands, one for her and the other for her daughter.

(Massu says that the rest of the mails will be related to sports)
5. Question: Does Massu have advice for running a marathon? She says she's not good at long distance running.
~ Massu says that he is also not good at long distance running; instead, he's good at short distance running. He says that amongst him and his friends, only one could roughly be considered good at long distance races. Massu suggests to just take out energy when running the marathon (lol). He also comments that his stomach tends to hurt when he does long distance running (lol). Massu says ganbatte.

6. Letter: The listener says that recently at school they have to practice jumping over the vaulting box. At first she did fine, but as the height increased she started to get scared. So, she thinks to herself that she'd like to be as good as Massu, then she successfully jumped over it.
- Massu comments that vaulting boxes are really scary ne. Back in elementary school, he remembers that his best record was jumping over the 8th layer. Then Massu starts to think; he says that he doesn't remember ever performing jumping over a vaulting box, so why would the listener think that he's good at it? (lol) He wonders if it's the impression he leaves on people. He also gave this listener a headband.

7. Question: The listener asks Massu if he knows tricks to win a bread-eating race**?
- Massu wondered what the race is like at first. He's never done this type of race before, but he has done the type where one needs to search for candies(?) in a plate/bowl full of flour using only the mouth. He thinks it's kind of annoying since your face would get covered by flour. About the bread-eating race, Massu suggests controlling the amount of bread you eat in the morning, so when it comes to the race, you'd probably have a greater graving for it.

** hello-q: utako-chan said that the anime "Chibi Maruko-chan" has an episode where they did this type of race. She explained that in the middle of the race there is a rack with bread hanging on them. Contestants need to finish eating the bread or bite the bread off the string(?) and then continue to finish the race. (if anyone knows more detail of this, like if there's a better name for the race, please tell me ne ^^)

8. Question: If Massu has a girlfriend, which side would he like to stand next to her?
- Massu laughs and comments that this is not related to sports (lol). He says that if it's three-legged race then he'd stand on the left side. He mentions that he and a friend did tried a three-legged race before, and they were really fast.

* hello-q: I lol-ed at the way he made it sports-related. ^^

Music: Taiyou no Namida

9. Master Beat: Snow Express
- Massu says that this song's lyrics was written by Shizuka Ijuin-san who had written lyrics for Matchy-san (aka. Kondo Masahiko-san) before; and the song was composed by Yamashita Tatsuro-san. Massu says that fans who have been to their concerts and those who have watched the DVDs are probably familiar with this song. It was on the Never Ending Wonderful Story tour when they first performed it. He is happy that it was put into the CD for release because he knows that many people like the song. Massu reminds fans that once the album is released, remember to listen to it a lot before going to the party. Then he goes off saying that he doesn't know if they'll be singing them. (lol)

* hello-q: I can't tell from what he said if they'll be changing the song list or not. *shrugs*

10. Ending: Massu mentions the Fukui party again~ He says that starting from October 25th, NEWS's holding a nation-wide tour. They'll be going to different places in the country to meet the fans. ^^
