It sounds like you've been doing at LEAST a pretty good job of mothering for 2+ years. Madeleine looks absolutely delighted with life in every picture I've seen. Hubbycakes should learn to shut his trap -- "accident" means that no one was at fault.

I think sometimes I just get overwhelmed by the "this person is completely dependent upon me to teach her all about life" thing. I mean, what kind of example am I really? If she gets a tattoo (or 2), if she's smoking cigarettes in the cemetery at 14, then, well...

Also, hubbycakes is a shithead, lately. This morning he was giving me crap about sending her back to daycare (though her fever's gone and she's better). It's like, how many days off work did he take to take care of her? Certainly not 3. Times like these I wish I lived in an Amazonian society, where the men are used for insemination only and then killed. >:)

If it makes you feel better my mom once knocked me off the front porch and into some bushes. I turned out ok. She also felt like a horrible mother.

yes, I actually know someone whose 2 month old rolled off his changing table and broke his jaw, and had to have his mouth wired shut (at 2 months). It feels good if you discuss the guilt, I think. It is so consuming, it needs to be dealt with.
