hey, you probably get this question all the time, but where can i get skins, wallpapers, and themes for windows that makes my comp actually look like lain's navi?
right now i have my theme set up so that my font is teal and the back grounds are dark blues. and i have a firefox theme that makes my browser look like a mac's. i figure for a desktop all someone would have to do is take screen caps of lains comp, i dont know how to do that though :( i also dont know how to make icons, and that would help too.
Well... This doesn't make your desktop look like Navi, but it IS nice. Changes all your sounds to Navi's sounds and some of the Icons turn to Lain themed one's.
I love the sounds. There's nothing better then hearing "Hello Lain. Lain has new mail." everytime you get an e-mail.
I just read through their website, and that seems pretty damn cool, I was wondering if you know if it works at all. I don't have Lynix, but I'm looking into getting it.
I used to have Linux before I switched (back) to Windows. But that was when I was a wee little kid, someone who didn't understand computers very much. I have no idea if it works at all. Perhaps I should get Linux...or Solaris. I hear that Sun has produced a new, free operating system (Solaris). But...school drags on and I never really have time to check into detail.
Actually LainOS is still in the design stage. This is an excerpt from (updated few months ago) LainOS FAQ: Q) What stage of production are you in? A) Very "in the beginning." We've been drawn back to the drawing board for Display Server. Also, we are still taking ideas on what the 'Next Generation OS' should feel like. What is available now on their site is just an alpha version of X11 window manager. It's not very sophisticated, though. Here you can see a screenshot. Also people interested in user interfaces should check this out. It's a 3D file manager for Mac. And one last thing - I've uploaded this Copland OS background for any Navi desktop builders. Have fun!
