Okay it may have been my fault because I'm not a perceptive and/or sensitive and/or high EQ-ed person but still I feel this rant makes some decent sense out of frustrations, okay not frustrations, little kinks with my class.

You see, my class has a very clear gender divide, and that is not counting the barrier between PRCs and locals/other scholars. First of all I just want to say that this barrier is not unbreakable, just that nobody is bothering to make an effort to, not just from one side but from both sides as well. But that is not the point in this rant.

Fine, 5/7 of the local/scholar girls are from girls school and have no experience in dealing with/talking to guys, almost the same can be said for the guys side. But I don't see how either sides should not attempt to mix with the other. Girls can try to understand guys stuff, like the time we went LAN-ing, guys can try to understand girls stuff, which I have not have an example for so far. To be fair to the guys there are a few guys who have integrated rather seamlessly into the girls clique, uh, I don't think there are any girls who have done so with regards to the guys clique though. Our interactions as a whole though, have been largely gender-neutral so there's not too much of a problem.

(See that's why I should always type out my thoughts when I'm angry first. Now I lost my angry thoughts. -_-)

Our greatest problem as a class though, is class outings. There are 3 types of problems with our class when trying to have class outings. Other than the fact that it is hard to coordinate due to the large number of people, but there have been a few successful cases, such as Haziq's farewell party. (Other than PEOPLE BEING LATE.)

1) Gender-specific outings
When guys initiate a guys-only outing, girls get jealous. When girls initiate a girls-only outing, guys get jealous. (I'm not sure about the second part.) I mean, if they want an all-guys/girls outing I don't see the point in getting jealous or going all 'walao' over it. But this is a minor problem, we take it as a joke most of the time anyway.

2) Specific genders cannot make it due to an odd occurrence of coincidence
This. I don't know why but it always happen. Okay actually there's a perfectly logical reason. There are very few local/scholar girls in the non-PRC clique. And this group have very close friends outside of the class whom always loved calling people out for some reason. And these outside friends are *ahem* astute (yay SEA!) enough to know to book people of upcoming outings in advance. But I want to make it clear that this is _not_ anyone's fault. Not those outside friends, not the people who asked a little later. Simply bad timing. So I honestly don't see any point in getting angry over this. I can see where your frustration is coming from, but no need to get pissed. If none of the girls/guys can make it, just make it an all-guys/girls outing. When you're stuck being the only guy/girl there it's really not as bad as it sounds. So, I honestly don't get people get angry over it and start pointing fingers.

3) Underappreciation
Okay this is not really a problem with class outings but I still find this part irksome. Look, people have put effort and time into planning your class outings. People have spent minutes and breaks poring over SMSes, organisations, planning and stuff to try to make the outing run as smooth as possible. People like Khad especially, Qi En, Livia, David, Yong Wei, and uh sometimes Jonathan when he's conveniently in the same table, Haziq, these people have put effort into planning the outing and there is little credit given for their efforts. There's no need to put up a big thank-you sign or anything, just for example, not being late will do. If you're gonna be late (which I am guilty of, heh.) SMS them beforehand so they know not to wait for you. At least make an effort to not look bored, especially at the start of the outing. Although if it's very late in the night, it's understandable. If it was a success, thank those people for their effort; if it didn't go as planned, it's nobody's fault and we should try to (wait for it--) innovate and make the best of whatever we can, rather than sulk.

Phew. There are more pet peeves with class outings, but I can't remember all of my thoughts at the moment, so these 3 paragraphs shall suffice.

If anybody is even remotely bored enough to read through this crap, please note that I am simply viewing things from an objective manner and this post is really not targeted at anyone specifically or any nationalities/race/wtv. If you feel offended, you have my number, feel free to talk this out through SMS or a convo or anything I'm contactable by. If you feel this last paragraph is turning weird, that is because I've been reading walkthroughs and FAQs for an entire day and I cannot stop speaking like the guides.

Goodnight and goodbye.
