For those who have known me a long time, you might have met my parrot, Sam. Although he had a respectable run of things (23 is actually quite venerable for a cockatiel), old age finally won out today

It really sucks when a pet dies. I used to underestimate the grief because I grew up on a farm and never had pets. Then as an adult, I had a dog that I had to put to sleep, and my heart broke.
