As awful as we thought he looked when this video came out, when I watch it now, I can't help but think how good and healthy he looks when you think about any photo or video clip you've seen of in really the last few years.

I always liked this video though...also Janet is ridiculously hawt in this vid.

When isn't Janet ridiculously hot? Man, this whole thing just makes me so sad. He was such a horribly damaged man but his talent was incredible. *sigh* My childhood is dead.

we were having homemade sushi at a friends' house when my mom called and told us early yesterday evening. much as he was definitely weird and damaged from his [lack of a normal] childhood, we all recognised how important he was to music. it's so weird when someone so huge dies - a real shock.

we also agreed that helooked best when "bad" came out - he'd moved past the awkward youth stage and it was before he started to look weird. i noticed after seeing a photo of him in his late teens/early 20s compared to a more recent picture of him, that his facial structure - jawline and cheekbones - were the same, just that he was very sallow-looking in the recent photo, which made me wonder if maybe he was suffering from anorexia or bulemia or maybe a wasting disease...

still, it's so weird that he's dead...
