how do you create the 'new layer' Sorry I've only just stated making today ^^;

I just got home, but if you have Photoshop, then go to Layer>New Fill Layer... and then put in the color and set the blending mode and opacity to whatever...

If you have Paint Shop Pro, then go to Layers>New Raster Layer, change the blend mode and using the FLOOD FILL TOOL fill the layer with whatever color.

If you have another program, then I don't know because I only have PSP and PS, but I hope it helped.

And I really don't mind because when I had just started and was reading tutorials, I didn't know how to make a new layer either!

lol, yes it's hard to get the hang of that's for sure! This is simple and I can't work it out XD I'll just keep trying I guess. Thanks for your help by the way :)

Ziyi Zhang sounds kinda weird ... her name is actually said Zhang Ziyi, in the traditional way. XD
