Wow, heavy class load. I'd personally be excited about Intro to Politics, though it would probably make me angry, as almost everything to do with politics does.
To be honest though, I don't really even understand why French is a language taught in schools anymore. It seems so irrelevant next to the languages of countries that are becoming more important in the world, such as Chinese, Hindi, and Arabic. I guess I just don't understand the insistence on clinging to teaching European dialects in countries of diminishing importance in the world when most people in those countries are taught to speak English anyway. We should probably be learning the languages of countries that aren't teaching their children English.
I could see why you would want to learn some of these languages as a linguistics major, I just don't understand why schools aren't making other more relevant languages more available for students as well. Am I wrong?

Hmm...well, first off, picking french and german wasn't really my choice. well, it was. folsom high offered three; i still picked the less-practical of the three, since spanish would have made sense. but i have beef with spanish, and it was my heart's desire to speak french and german, despite little details like practicality. my heart's two other desires are irish gaelic and burmese. ...yeah ( ... )

hmm, I see your point. I guess finding teachers for those languages might be difficult; and finding students to fill the classes could be tough 'cause people are ignant.

...on a side note, whats the lumberjack/axe-murderer in your pic saying?

Why do you need to learn Native American Languages? We pushed them folk off our land years ago. Like, 1980 or something. You should learn cat instead. I'm sure my mom would teach you.
