So, Comic Con is only seven days away!! Sooo super excited, not only just for all the cool stuff at the con, but to just be taking a vacation. Although, it is the kind of vacation you then need another vacation to recover from!
Things that I am happy about:
- The Con organizers and WB people finally got smart and are giving out the ginormous bags at registration instead of causing crazy mad traffic congestion at their booth on the floor
- Super awesome panels featuring some authors of series I love- Rob Thurman, Seanan McGuire/Mira Grant, Richelle Mead, Rachel Caine, and of course Charlaine Harris!
- Overall, there are TONS of fiction panels this year- this is the most I have ever seen of them! For zombies, vampires, YA, science fiction, mythology... it's a super con for book fans
Things that I am less happy about:
- The fact that there is a total three way pileup as far as Friday night's panels are concerned. Who decided that putting True Blood, the Penguin books panel (publishers of a large chunk of the urban fantasy market) and Being Human at roughly the same time was a good plan? The fandom overlap for those three items is huge. Friday is supposed to be Star Wars day, couldn't they have broken that up and put those three things against any of the numerous Star Wars panels so fans of everything could have three awesome panels to attend, instead of having to pick just one (and if it's True Blood, stand in a three hour line before hand too!)
No idea how I'm going to get through the next week or get any meaningful and useful work done, lol!
