Transformers was pretty lame.  Granted I came equipped to tear the film apart, but with Steven Spielberg and  Michael Bay as executive producers, I think it's fair.  The film  was completely Hollywood-ized, Michael Bay's crazy angles gave me a headache and many of the action scenes were a blur.  MEGATRON IS ACTUALLY GALVATRON HERE.  Another ( Read more... )

yeah, horrible wasn't it? horrible horrible plot and script writing and everything. it was pretty to look at, but otherwise... jesus christ.

at least they got the oroginal voice of optimus in there (by popular fan demand).

it makes more sense if you read the wiki entry on it. micahel bay had never watched transformers growing up. he doesn't know what made the show good.

the move to make megatron galvatron had to do with bay's desire to not have scale issues with the transformations, also the reason why they didn't include soundwave.

the voice wasn't spot on, but it was all right.

anyways, puh. soundwave would have been AWESOME! the dinobots would have been a great addition to the movie too (with some comic relief).

Agreed. My answer to your question about what I thought of the movie right after we saw the movie was...sugar coated. I think 5 of the people we saw it had already seen it...and gave great reviews. I didn't want to blast the movie.

I really scrutinize the length of movies. This movie was stretched way too long. I know that they want to involve as many market segments as possible to get the most profit but I thought it was directed too much towards the younger kids. I would to see it get a little darker.

Btw, Spielberg is the only executive producer on T2.

After the two hour mark, I got a little tired of watching. Generally speaking, I don't have a problem with lengthy films (Lord of the Rings, Star Wars), but this film had no real reason for it's length. The plot was bad, jokes were adolescent and the overall feel was "hollywood."

Actually, Lan and Eric, when I talked to them at least, agreed that the movie wasn't all that.

That's good news to hear that Michael Bay is not onboard next time. However, this film has left a bad taste in my mouth.
