Last minute scheduled surgeries are better than knowing weeks ahead of time, in my opinion. When I had my thumb surgery, I didn't know I was going to have it until literally, an hour before they wanted me in the hospital. It was great because I didn't have any time to worry or get anxious about it. By the time it sank in what was happening, it was already over!
