I love checking out other people's bookshelves. It's kind of hard to read of some of the titles in your picture though. ): Still, if that really is Waiting for Godot I see then I feel compelled to tell you that Beckett would be very upset by being called English as he was an Irishman. Just sayin'. Otherwise: I approve.
I love the covers of those old Penguin classics. My mom has a ton of them from when she was at university and - since you mentioned Russian literature - my favorite is probably Notes from Underground by Fyodor Dostoyevsky. ;)
Stupid question but I'm curious: do you get your books used or are they worn because you've had them for so long? Personally I love buying used books because the previous owners sometimes leave "traces" of themselves, like a note or a bookmark. It's spooky and neat.
I love Notes from the Underground! It was the second Dostoyevsky I ever read (first being The Idiot, which ended up so torn apart it is in three or four pieces now).
I usually buy my books used-- not only because it's more charming (and I always like reading old copies of old books; it's just fitting), but also because it's cheaper. All of the books in that photo were purchased used, with the exception of We (by Yevgeny Zamyatin) and One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich (by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn).

And yeah, I just took it with my webcam, so it's not the highest quality photo ever. I might get proper photos later.

I love taking pictures of books. I don't even know why. Making sure the titles are legible is always tricky though.
