Man, I remember when my mom would yell at my dad for going 75mph while speeding in the left lane passing everyone. Now I'm hitting 90-100 on the way to and from school easily

not to mention that excessive speed more readily allows your car to lose control and gives you way less chance of survival. its not worth the risk, and its not worth a ticket either. I got a ticket for $350 for going 86 in a 65. I got it reduced to $250 but thats still a significant sum of money that I'd rather keep. Now I never go over 80 bc my car beeps at me if I do, plus I have a radar detector just in case.
Easier said than done I suppose, though you seem to be making an active effort in slowing yourself down. It's hard, it becomes a habit. I don't know if I can make it to where I need to be on time without driving fast. I feel like I'm going so slow when I'm behind someone, so I'll always try to pass them. Even if they're going >80mph. I guess it's just something I have to consciously make an effort to fix.
when i notice myself getting intense on the road i just stop and think, 'whats the rush'--i might as well enjoy driving or at least let it be a relaxed activity
I find that throwing on the cruise control at something like 75 allows me to stop thinking about passing the next car but lets me just sit back and enjoy the ride. try it
