I will be moving a week from yesterday (on the 29th). I will have a large number of boxes and assorted containers of stuff. I will however also have the so-far namesless Object--the pump organ thing. Well, clearly I don't have a need to rent a minivan, but I'll totally help you schlep. Enlightened self-interest all the way-shift that gaming center of gravity back toward the eastern edge of campus! ;-)

Also, are you sure that it wouldn't be cheaper to rent a full-sized cargo van from Budget or (heaven forfend) U-Haul? They're a lot easier to get things in and out of, and not all that much harder to park, and my memory is that they cost about that same amount.

You're right--it costs the same to get a full van from Enterprise; I haven't checked with Budget; I like Enterprise because they don't mind me being under 25. I went with the minivan before because I was driving across 3 states and it gets better mileage, but that shouldn't be a problem for going across town.

As for U-Haul... hmm. Also shitty mileage, but more like twenty bucks a day. I shall investigate further.

I'll help, of course. Is it worth asking my mom to measure the Odyssey? (wow, now I picture her sticking my DS books on the bathroom scale.)

I actually measured it myself this weekend. It's a quarter inch too narrow and then also has things sticking out (that the back seat normally latches to). So close.

I was wondering why you showed up and immediately crawled into the back of the van with the measuring tape, but then I got distracted so at the time I didn't ask. Little mystery solved!
