Dean's Black/Dark Blue Utility Coat
This coat has four large front pockets that come in handy for carrying M&Ms (or guns). The collar is worn and a little frayed, though it's only noticeable in later episodes on close-up shots. It appears either black or dark blue, depending on the lighting and how much of the colour has been washed out of the episode.
Brand Information:
M-65 by Alpha Industries modified by the wardrobe department (Dean's version does not have the zipper across the back of the neck nor the shoulder straps). (Old Navy had a similar coat - see comments)
APPEARANCES:
(Note: There is a continuity error in the Pilot (1x01), in which Dean actually jumps into a Magic Muddy Coat-Changing River, and the Black Utility Coat stands in for a muddied version of

In I’m No Angel (9x03), Dean wears this coat when he and Sam go to the homeless camp and then to Detroit, as they look for and eventually find Castiel.
FATE: Presumably confiscated by the prison authorities in Folsom Prison Blues (2x19), it miraculously shows back up again in All Hell Breaks Loose Part 2 (2x22). So, take that as you will. Really, the only way to explain this coat's longevity is to have Dean continually replacing it with the same style and brand.
