Rewatch S5: Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid (5x15)

Oct 13, 2010 00:00

Back to the rewatch! This is the slowest freakin' rewatch I've ever done...seriously. I apologize to all those eagerly awaiting my S5 timeline (...let me have my illusions that people care, please).

On with the show...

But the Winchesters will wear the same clothes for 3 days...and also not sleep. )

rewatch s5

I will say that I know from interviews and stuff last year, that originally this episode was supposed to air BEFORE My Bloody Valentine. I kind of think they should have kept it that way.

I totally agree, and that's why I watched this episode before MBV when I did my rewatch. It totally makes SO much more sense!! ^_^

Yeah, I think I defended the switch at the time - but I was on crack. It's MUCH better to watch it before MBV, like you did. Actually, that's really what I should have done too.

Sadly though, the way I do the timeline, I take episode order as canon.

Thanks!

And yeah, I think at the time I was confused as to whether they just filmed them out of order, or if they were meant to air in the other order or whatever. Upon reflection though, it's quite obvious that this one was supposed to be 5x14. :P Ah well! I guess with CW's schedule, they had to switch it around to get My Bloody Valentine to play near Valentines day?

heh maybe they did that with the schedule. it's the CW; i don't ask questions or try to figure out their logic. i'd have better luck asking the wall.

Knowing Jim Beaver's personal story makes his performance all the more moving.

And I so wish they would have kept the episodes in the correct order, because the last shot of Dean in 'Bloody Valentine' does not fit at all with Dean in this episode. :(

But your review, as always, is great to read.

I agree about Jim Beaver. I really didn't have words for his performance...besides the fact that it kills me and is awesome :P But yeah...

And yes, I wish they had kept the episodes in the correct order too. You can really tell when the discontinuity with Dean's character.

Also, thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed my review.

"But, what can you do."

You could watch the episodes in a different order. xD

I need to catch up on Supernatural. Still haven't finished the fifth season. D8

Haha. I saw most of it. I've seen this episode and the next one, but I haven't seen anything other than that.

Somebody else has already spoiled it for me. D8 YouTube can be an evil tool sometimes. xD

I know I will. I remember when the first episode came out. 8D I've been with this series from the start, which is rare for me. x3
